Hey look! I made a wallpaper! I didn't know I could do that! o.o

Bad Wolf is a mystery in itself. I wish Billie had stuck on the show longer so maybe we could've learned more about Bad Wolf, but ah well.
I think the TARDIS is just as much a part of Bad Wolf as Rose is. They both loved the Doctor and neither wanted him to die. The TARDIS herself could not harm the Daleks so she gave Rose the Time Vortex along with her Heart, giving her the strength and power she needed to defeat them.
Of the Bad Wolf entity, Rose is the body and half of the soul, the TARDIS is the power and the other half of the soul.

Thanks :meow: It's something I've had to think about a lot since I'm doing a season 3 rewrite, in which Bad Wolf plays a part, especially in the later chapters. I've seen so many different takes on Bad Wolf (both good and bad) and rewriting season 3 (mostly bad) so I wanted to come up with something original-ish. And in my brainstorming I came up with this idea and it made sense to the friends of mine I explained it to so I kept it!

Something I never got about Bad Wolf: supposedly it granted them godly power, right? So why didn't either of them use the power to make it so it wouldn't kill them? I mean, I figure thats what the Doctor did to Rose, which is the only explanation for why Rose had the energy for five minutes and didn't die, but the Doctor had it for five seconds and did die. But come on, why not keep it for a couple seconds longer and save yourself too? Was he that at risk of going psycho with the power like Ten described in "Utopia" ?

Well, she had godlike powers over Time, not necessarily her own body.
The reason it would've killed her was because she's human and her mind just can't handle the power and magnitude of the Time Vortex. The same way Donna would've died from having a Time Lord's mind.
Granted they both lasted longer in their "conditions" than what should be possible... Perhaps, the same way some people are born psychic and their bodies are built slightly different to be so, Donna and Rose could've been born to be the Bad Wolf and DoctorDonna so their bodies and minds were built to be able to handle it for an extended amount of time.

As to why the Doctor couldn't handle it, it might be because he simply wasn't meant to hold onto the Vortex and the Heart of the TARDIS for any amount of time...like everyone else in the universe! Or...
A) He's already looked into the Vortex before when he was a kid, it could've been too much to see it twice.
B) There are a lot of energies and particles within the Heart of the TARDIS that aren't compatible with his body (like Huon, though we've seen with Donna that humans can survive for a time with Huon in them) or that he already has in his body as well and the added amounts he absorbed were too much for his system.

Maybe, I still maintain the idea that the Doctor had to give up the energy quickly because, as Ten described to Jack, if a Timelord held the energy he would become a "vengeful god". The Doctor didn't want that to happen, so he used the few moments he had with the energy to heal Rose, before getting the energy out as fast as he could.

That is also a good theory - though I never understood how he would've been able to heal her.
